Breadcrumbs: Navigation > Settings > Acronyms

The acronym mapping allows to substitute an acronym which is contained in an incoming message with a long text.

This function is exclusively applied to the contents of the ~message~ placeholder.

Example

Acronym: B129

Meaning: Building West, Code 129

If the cryptic acronym B129 is part of an incoming message text, e.g. coming from a technical interface, s.GUARD will replace it with the more readable version "Building West, Code 129"

Acronym

Acronym, i.e. the text that is to be substituted

Clear Acronym Value

If this setting is enabled, the acronym will be removed from the message text (i.e., it will be replaced with an empty string)

Default Meaning

Meaning of the Acronym, i.e. the text with which the acronym shall be replaced

Note: this value will be used if either no condition is specified or no condition is met

Condition Value

If a condition is specified, the acronym replacement mechanism checks if the "condition value" is present in the message text.

If yes, the acronym will be replaced with the according replacement value.

Note: Once the acronym replacement mechanism identifies a matching condition, the remaining conditions will not be evaluated.

Replacement Value

Text to replace the acronym in case the corresponding condition is met.
